"The picture was taken in Adelie Land at Dumont d'Urville Scientific Station. (Antarctica) (66°40S / 140°00E). It was end of summer season and there is still some little Adelie penguins (left) which should go very soon to the sea.
At the back ground it's icebergs from Astrolabe glacier which is located
on the right ot the photo.
Still at the background, there is the ship Astrolabe (same name as
glacier) which sail 4 times during summer season (Dec/Feb) between
Dumont d'Urville station and Hobart in Tasmania (Australia). During
these 4 rotations, the ship carry people (scientists, logistics,...) and
all materials needed to run the base for summer season (50/70 people)
and also for winter season (25/30 people). It's also the departure point
for the permanent scientific station in land : Concordia at Dфme C.
