A team wants a low/no-cost DAM with generous free-tier storage (500GB/5 users) and unlimited-user paid tier, is comfortable piloting without a substantial independent review base to lean on, and can tolerate some risk that pre-2019-era complaints (search/UI) may or may not have been fixed.

A team's procurement process requires corroborated, recent third-party reviews before purchase, or the primary workflow depends on free-text/content search across a large asset library rather than filename-based recall.

The one substantive complaint that recurs (on both platforms it appears on) is that finding an asset again is hard unless you already know the exact filename or have a direct link — free-text search was called out as a weak point. This is a single data point, not a pattern across multiple independent reviewers. It also predates razuna.com's current marketing claims of AI-assisted and semantic search, so it's unclear whether the complaint still applies to the present product.

The one open-source lineage still visible on GitHub (razuna/razuna-legacy, AGPL-3.0) is explicitly marked legacy/unmaintained as of a 2026 commit that redirects users to razuna.com, while separate company repos (WordPress plugin, MCP server) show active 2025-2026 development — so engineering effort has moved to the commercial product, not the open-source core.
