You already need (or are shopping for) a PIM and want product asset management natively unified with product data in one workflow, on a SaaS platform, with AI-assisted keyword tagging and role-based/rights metadata (licensing terms, expiration dates, regional restrictions) built in.

Do not buy it if

You need a standalone, feature-rich DAM (portals/external sharing, watermarking, C2PA, RAW/CAD handling, facial recognition, GIS) as your primary system — Akeneo's own DAM page documents none of these; the DAM is explicitly positioned as a companion to the PIM, not an independent media library.
